Greetings again from CT and meet my new Bike!

Message par MMcG » Lun Déc 04, 2006 2:31 pm

Hello again Everyone,

It has been ages since I posted here, but I thought I'd write to say hello again and to show my new to me Zion 853 Single Speed 96er that I built up recently.

A few things first. I've been through a few bikes since my last post, a couple of them of the 29" wheeled variety. But finances are tight, so off those went. This replaces them and I built it up really inexpensively thanks to the kindness of a local rider who gave me the frame and other local and internet folks who sold me parts for real cheap or in some cases in exchange for some beer! :D

Also, I just started a new job - I'm stoked about it and it will help me out both career-wise and financially (maybe even a new full suspension bike come spring!). I'm now working for a Children's Hospital doing foundation relations fundraising and I'm really excited about the new opportunity and the potential that exists in this position.

Well that's enough rambling from me, on to a few photos of my bike. It is a mishmash of parts, but it rides really nice and that's what matters the most right?

Happy Holidays everyone!

Best,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Glad to see that things are going your way.

Really not bad for a cheap 29er SS! I like it.

We will probably ride 29erSS together next year at Monkeyfest! I am suppose to receive a Kona Unit 29 early next year.

Thanks for posting, come and see us more often!

It sure looks strange with that big wheel on the front, but it's nice. I like it! :-)

Good to hear from you too Deyv.

The Zion has a 26" rear SS wheel courtesy of splat on the back and a 29er wheel up front. I'm gonna give this thing a go as my single speed for the time being. Although you know me, I've always got mye eyes and ears open for other options (like a true 29er SS).

At the same time, I'd like to add a 5 or 6 inch trail bike into the mix again if I can afford it.

Cheers,

Mark
