This is really going to depend a lot on your own personal preference.
Both models can handle the type of use you are asking for, but the Heckler
is closer to the "Trail Bike" end of the spectrum, and the Nomad is more of
an "All Mountain" oriented model. To me it sounds like the Nomad better fits
your riding description.
The Heckler frame is designed to fit right in between our lightweight XC and
Freeride models. An all-around Aggressive XC/Trail bike that will not weigh
so much that you can't ride it everywhere.
