Voici un truc peu dispendieux qui saura vous éviter bien des tracas tout en augmentant la performance de vos pneus grâce à la basse pression. (Thanks à RMB pour avoir partagé ses connaissances. C'est de lui que je tiens ce truc.)

Vous aurez besoin de:
-1 roue avec pneu (les deux en bon état. Un pneu dont la tringle est déchaussée sera inutilisable car non étanche!)
-Latex Stan's.
-Lame de rasoir ou x-acto.
-Ciseaux coupants.
-Marqueur (feutre).
-Chiffon.
-Tube de BMX de 20

Nettoyez la jante et vérifiez s'il n'y a pas de copeaux de métal ou accroc qui pourraient faire échouer le montage.

Gonflez le tube de BMX pour permettre un montage aisé et éviter qu'il ne tourne trop.

Versez le contenu de la tasse à mesurer dans le pneu. Pour les pneus de DH, j'ai mis 2 tasses et demie pour un 2.8 et deux tasses pour un 2.5. Si c'est votre premier essai, inclure une demie tasse supplémentaire en cas de "renverse".

Voici ce à quoi votre roue ressemblera une fois l'excédent de tube retiré. On n'y voit que du feu...ou presque. Personne n'a jamais tenté de me suivre en descente pour regarder mes roues et critiquer ma manière de découper les tubes. ;)

C'est un truc connu de bien des passionnés (es). Certains n'en ont jamais entendu parler...c'est pourquoi j'ai fait ce petit reportage-technique tout en m'amusant. Les plus avertis remarqueront qu'il y a DEUX modèles de pneus utilisés. Le Comp32 n'a pas passé le test d'étanchéité causé par une tringle déchaussée et en très mauvais état. Le Stan's a ses limites, quand même...

Je roule en descente avec ce système simple depuis le 27 mai. Pression de 20 livres à l'arrière et 18 livres à l'avant...pour un rider de 190lbs lorsqu'il ne porte que son antisudorifique. La basse pression me pousse à rouler mieux, en plus grand confort et avec un bien meilleur contrôle de mon vélo. Les sections de "champ de patates" ne sont plus un problème (ou le sont moins ) et je n'ai JAMAIS eu de flat ou à regonfler mes pneus depuis le montage en milieu avril. C'est dire si je suis impressionné.

J'utilise c système depuis 2 ans et je peux vous dire que ça fonctionne très bien. Aucun flat. Je l'utilise en DH avec un comp 32 et un comp 24 sur des D321.
