My 2004 Hollowpoint Frame Arrived tonight!!!!

Message par MMcG » Mar Jan 18, 2005 10:44 pm

Well my wait is over - It was driving me nuts waiting for this frame, but when I got home from work tonight two boxes were waiting for me. One was a big frame box - the other a small box containing an X.9 rear derailleur. That derailleur will be going on this frame! My 2004 black Iron Horse Hollowpoint frame with Fox Float RL AVA shock.

My initial impression of this frame is that it is much stronger and well built than I had thought it would be - I'm pleasantly surprised.

It came with a little bit of minor cable rub and one teeny paint chip - not too shabby for a frame that I got for $300 shipped!!

Well here are a few pics that I snapped while the frame was spending some time on my couch this evening. Enjoy.

cool rear triangle bracing

Float set in 4.5" position - it also came with a remote lockout if I decide to drop the shock back into the 3.75" position

Can't wait to try out this dw-link frame - pretty strong chainstays too!

This 2004 version seems to be a pretty significant step in terms of build quality from the 2003 version - I think I'm going to like this frame.

Last shot - head tube badge - I kinda like the headtube on this bike and the zero stack headset too.

Very nice! Congrats!

300$ seems like an awesome deal! The frame looks to be in perfect conditions from what we can see on the pics. :thumb:

Thanks - yeah the frame is in great shape. Motivated seller I guess - he was gathering up money to buy a Cannondale Prophet - so I guess my timing was right. :thumb:

L'axe 15mm est la meilleur solution a un problème qui n'existait pas.
