Message par BOX » Mar Sep 18, 2007 1:26 pm

If i file down the sharp points on the inside and out and put double rim tape.
would you ride this?

Edit* this is on a fixed gear bike until my new rim comes in the mail.

is that a spoke pulled out?

it's funny, you are the bike mechanic and are asing us advises on that??

If the rim seems strong i would try it. and see hoe it reacts, especialy if its temporary.

I think it's alright... One hole... that's it... There are 32-36 spokes on that wheel that do their job... You're not going down stairs or anything... so you should be alright... I'd prefer having that wheel set in the rear... if it fails, you have less chance of hurting yourself... same as a car... Put crappy tires and/or wheels in the back, at least it won't affect the steering if something should happen...

The spoke was not riped out.
i ran over a "U-Bolt" and it pierced right threw my wheel threw my tire.

I am no longer mechanic..
Now i am just programmer / marketing specialist.

Now i don't just talk about bikes i have the time to actually ride them.

To be honest i think i am going to ride it no matter what people say i just want to know what you think.
worse case i get stuck in the middle of my ride to work or i get a flat going down hill and cant stop.

I think that there is absolutly no problem riding this rim. As a matter of fact, it's almost the same thing as the valve hole. If you can't see any cracks, I don't see a reason to not riding it. And as Big Jay has said, as long as you don't go downstairs...
